QUEBEC – Beaufield Resources of Montreal has filed an updated 43-101 report for its wholly owned Tortigny polymetallic project 150 km north of Chibougamau. The project is in the advanced stage of exploration.
The deposit contains measured and indicated resources of 1.1 million tonnes grading 1.8% Cu, 3.65% Zn, 48.51 g/t Ag and 0.35 g/t Au. There is also an inferred resource of 99,000 tonnes grading 1.19% Cu, 1.23% Zn, 12.45 g/t Ag and <0.1 g/t Au.
The Tortigny deposit is only 42 km from the former Troilus gold-copper mine. Tortigny is considered a VMS deposit that later remobilized within a synclinal fold. Mineralization consists of massive to semi-massive sulphides within a calcite-rich matrix.
