BULGARIA – Dundee Precious Metals of Toronto has extended the life of its Chelopech gold-copper-silver mine an extra two year to 2025 thanks to increases in reserves and resources. The property currently has proven and probable reserves of 23.9 million tonnes grading 3.26 g/t Au, 7.37 g/t Ag and 0.99% Cu.
Reserves are included in resources that total 28.7 million measured and indicated tonnes at 4.03 g/t Au, 9.25 g/t Ag and 1.25% Cu. There are also 8.2 million inferred tonnes at 2.y1 g/t Au, 11.22 g/t Ag and 0.92% Cu.
Dundee expanded its mill at Chelopech in 2012, and since then has replaced the second and third copper cleaners (2013) and commissioned a new pyrite circuit (2014). Concentrate production now stands at 150,000 t/y containing 46 million lb of copper and approximately 130,000 oz of gold each year.
