QUEBEC – Nemaska Lithium of Quebec City continues to fine tune the mill flowsheet for its Whabouchi lithium project 350 km northwest of Chibougamau. The recovery rate has been boosted 16.7% during tests of dense media separation equipment belonging to potential suppliers.
Crushed, coarse grained ore from Whabouchi was tested by Met-Solve Laboratories in a three-stage DMS pilot plant owned by a DMS manufacturer. Fine grained ore and middlings from the DMS circuit contained good lithium values and were combined and passed on for flotation testing.
Nemaska is conducting similar optimization tests for the flotation portion of the flowsheet. All results will be made public in the feasibility study due in Q1 2014.

16.7% increase may be important but if it only means 17.7% then it will not make anyone rich. It would be mor meaningful if the anouncement gave the new recovery percent, also.
