MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Prism Resources, Richmont Mines and Toromont

Robert Baxter is the new president and CEO of Vancouver-based Prism Resources. His appointment follows the resignation of Scott M. Ross.

Richmont Mines of Montreal has named gold industry veteran Bob Buchan to its board. He has made plans to invest $10 million in the company.

The board of directors of Toronto's Toromont Industries has promoted Scott J. Medhurst to the role of president and CEO, effective March 1, 2012. He is currently president of Toromont CAT, the Caterpillar dealership division of the company. Robert M. Ogilvie, currently Toromont chairman and CEO, will become executive chairman.
