QUEBEC - Toronto's Canada Lithium says the latest 43-101 report for its Quebec Lithium project 60 km north of Val d'Or has a total measured and indicated resource of 33.2 million tonnes grading 1.19% Li2O. That is 13.5% above the estimate made in May 2011 within the pit shell and using a cut-off of 0.08%.
During the same timeframe, the inferred resource has fallen 34% to 13.8 million tonnes from 20.9 million tonnes. Inversely, the grade has risen to 1.21% Li2O from 1.15% Li2O.
The updated estimate was prepared by AMC Mining Consultants using the results of the latest 56-hole drill program undertaken between June and August 2011. The new resource numbers will form part of a pit optimization project before the former mine is reopened (see CMJ, September 2011).
