MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Alderon Iron Ore, Lundin and Redtail

Vancouver-headquartered Alderon Iron Ore Corp. has appointed Bernard Potvin as executive VP project execution, effective Nov. 14, 2011. During his career, Potvin has held senior roles at aluminum producers and Canadian iron ore producers, including Iron Ore Co. of Canada where he was general manager of expansion projects.

Paul Conibear is the new president and CEO of Toronto's Lundin Mining Corp. A native of Sudbury, ON, he has considerable experience around the world. He was president of Tenke Mining when it was merged with Lundin.

Redtail Metals of Vancouver has named Blair Shilleto as chairman and John Legg as president. Shilleto is a successful mining and investment entrepreneur. Legg is the president of Golden Predator and the Predator Group.
