BUILDING: SNC-Lavalin to build, operate accommodations for oil sands workers

ALBERTA - SNC-Lavalin of Montreal has been awarded a contract to design, build, operate and maintain a workforce lodge for oil sands workers in Fort McMurray, AB.

The lodge will provide accommodation and recreational facilities for 2,500 workers during the construction phase of a major oil sands project. The contract also includes the turnkey provision of site preparation, pilings, water and wastewater treatment facilities and backup power generation, as well as the provision of catering and support services at the lodge over the construction period. Onsite construction is currently underway.
