SASKATCHEWAN - If the best place to find gold is in a gold mine, the best place to find high-grade gold is in a high-grade gold mine. That is true in light of recent drill highlights from the Seabee mine 125 km northeast of La Ronge. Owner Claude Resources of Saskatoon reported 50.00 g/t Au over 1.1 metres, 33.17 g/t over 2.0 metres, 28.29 g/t over 2.0 metres and 28.89 g/t over 1.9 metres (all true widths).
The Seabee gold mine reached commercial production late-1991, and has been a consistent producer for Claude. In 2009 the mine produced 46,827 oz of gold, compared to 45,466 oz in 2008. The company is moving the nearby Santoy 8 deposit closer to commercial production. It anticipates production will grow to 70,000 oz/y by the end of 2012.
Claude is also exploring the former Madsen gold mine near Red Lake, ON. More information is available at www.ClaudeResources.com.
