ANACONDA MINING of Toronto has realigned its management team and board of directors. John McBride has been appointed chairman of the board. The former chairman Lewis (Lew) Lawrick is now president and CEO and remains a director. Dr. Fiona Childe has joined the company as vice-president corporate development.

BANRO CORPORATION of Toronto says Peter Cowley has retired as president of the company but remains on the board of directors. Mike Prinsloo, CEO, will add the duties of president to his responsibilities.

Vancouver-based BLACKSTONE VENTURES has appointed Dean MacEachern as president and CEO effective immediately; he will also join the board as a director. MacEachern had been the company’s COO; he replaces Donald McInnes who has resigned as president but will remain on as a director. In addition, Jari Paakki, currently the vice-president of project development, will take on the additional role of vice-president of exploration.

Past chief of the Fond du Lac Denesuline First Nation, Victor Fern, has been elected to the board of Vancouver’s CANALASKA URANIUM.

CLAUDE RESOURCES of Saskatoon welcomes two new vice-presidents to its management team: Brian Skanderbeg in exploration and Dwight Percy in corporate development.

Dr. Sadek E. El-Alfy is the new COO at Vancouver-based CRESTON MOLY CORP. His decades of experience include vice-president operations at Crystallex International, general manager at Iron Ore Company of Canada, and chief mining engineer at Giant Yellowknife Mines. James A. Currie is the new vice-president operations at London, Ont.-based FORTUNE MINERALS. He will lead the engineering and development push at the company’s NICO cobalt-gold-bismuth deposit in the Northwest Territories and the Mount Klappan anthracite coal deposit in British Columbia.

Toronto-based GBS GOLD has named Peter Breese as president and CEO, effective Aug. 1, 2008.He currently serves as CEO of Norilsk Nickel’s international business.

HARTE GOLD CORP. of Toronto announced that by resolution of its board of directors, Robert Platte has been removed as president and CEO of the company. Robert Isles has been named president and CEO effective immediately. Paul Ankcorn is the new CFO, replacing Milton Klyman who resigned.

Chris Stewart is taking up the duties of vice-president operations at Toronto’s LAKE SHORE GOLD.

LAKOTA RESOURCES of Toronto announced that Ian F. T. Kennedy has been named president following the resignation of George H. Breuler from that position and as chairman.

Dr. James W. Gill, who founded Aur Resources, has joined the board of directors at Torontobased LINEAR METALS.

MINDORO RESOURCES of Edmonton has named Alan Buenavista to the position of exploration manager at its subsidiary in the Philippines. Additionally, Dr. F. S. Mon Monteros is now vice-president social and environmental management.

MIRARCO, based in Sudbury, Ont., has appointed Dr. Stephen Hall as president. Hall was former- ly the head of the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Ballarat in Victoria, Australia.

NFX GOLD of Toronto has expanded its team with the addition of Martin Bourgoin as executive vice-president, Alexander Horvath as executive vice-president exploration and John Langton as exploration manager in Ontario.

Toronto’s NORTH AMERICAN PALLADIUM has appointed Dr. William Stone to the position of vice-president exploration.

Vancouver’s NORTHERN FREEGOLD RESOURCES has named Susan P. Craig its new president. Bill Harris, who relinquished the role, becomes the COO and retains his duties as CEO.

ROMARCO MINERALS of Vancouver has named Ken Brunk its senior vice-president and COO. He was recently president and CEO of Harrison Western Group and before that spent many years with Newmont Mining.

Randall Thompson is now the general manager of the Minto copper mine in the Yukon, belonging to SHERWOOD COPPER of Vancouver. Brad Mercer has been promoted to vice-president exploration. Lawrence Bell has been invited to join Sherwood’s board of directors.

Colin K. Benner is now CEO and vice-chair of Vancouver-based SKYE RESOURCES. Benner replaces Ian Austin who has stepped down.

Robert Boyd is the new chairman of Vancouver’s TRUE NORTH GEMS. As part of its reorganization, the company gave the roles of president and CEO to Andrew Lee Smith. Steve Harapiak is the new president and COO at VICTORY NICKEL of Toronto. He is an industry veteran with years of international experience and has been president and CEO of Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan. Former president Brian Robertson has resigned.

WESTERN WARRIOR RESOURCES of Calgary says Paul Nagerl is its new president and CEO. The company also named Grant Hall its new vice-president corporate development.

Gary Cohoon has joined YUKON GOLD CORP. of Toronto as vice-president exploration.
