ANACONDA MINING of Toronto has realigned its management team and board of directors. John McBride has been appointed chairman of the board. The former chairman Lewis (Lew) Lawrick is now president and CEO and remains a director. Dr. Fiona Childe has joined the company as vice-president corporate development.
BANRO CORPORATION of Toronto says Peter Cowley has retired as president of the company but remains on the board of directors. Mike Prinsloo, CEO, will add the duties of president to his responsibilities.
Vancouver-based BLACKSTONE VENTURES has appointed Dean MacEachern as president and CEO effective immediately; he will also join the board as a director. MacEachern had been the company’s COO; he replaces Donald McInnes who has resigned as president but will remain on as a director. In addition, Jari Paakki, currently the vice-president of project development, will take on the additional role of vice-president of exploration.
