Toronto-based ANATOLIA MINERALS has named Edward C. Dowling, Jr., its new president and CEO, effective April 1, 2008. He was head of Meridian Gold, which was recently acquired by Yamana Gold.

Toronto-based CARPATHIAN GOLD has appointed Daniel Kivari its new COO and Randall Ruff as executive vice-president exploration. A former regional manager at Agnico-Eagle, Kivari has worked extensively throughout Latin America, Canada, Australia and the United States. Ruff is a veteran of operations in Eastern Europe, western United States and Africa.

CASTLE RESOURCES of Toronto has named Stephen Shefsky its new president and CEO. His career includes financing, exploration and development of resources companies for more than 12 years.

Ned Goodman has been appointed the new chairman of CORONA GOLD CORP. of Toronto. He was a director of the company from 1996 to 2003. He is also president and CEO of Dundee Corp. Goodman holds a BSc geology from McGill University and an MBA from the University of Toronto.

The new president and COO of Vancouver-based CROSSHAIR EXPLORATION & MINING is Paul Hosford. He brings to the post more than 24 years of international engineering experience in mine design, operations and project management. While passing the duties of the president to Hosford, former president Mark J. Morabito will retain his responsibilities as CEO.

DIAMOND FIELDS INTERNATIONAL of South Africa has named Edward Wayne Malouf its new chairman.

He was also appointed interim president and CEO in December.

EAST WEST RESOURCE CORP. of Thunder Bay, Ont., has a new president and CEO, M. J. (Moe) Lavigne, who has extensive experience in PGE exploration in northwest Ontario.

FIRST GOLD EXPLORATION of Montreal has named Eric Leboeuf president and CEO. He is a former stockbroker and founded an investor relations firm in 2001.

The new president and CEO of Vancouver’s G4G RESOURCES is Peter Arendt. He takes over from Len De Melt, who has stepped down.

GAMMON GOLD of Halifax has a new COO, Russell Tremayne, who was recently director of operations at Highland Gold. Additionally, Scott Perry has become CFO.

Victor Rozon is the new vice-president projects at GOLD HAWK RESOURCES of Vancouver. He has been plant manager for Cambior’s former bauxite operation in Guyana and commissioning manager for AMEC at De Beers’ Victor diamond project.

Donald Gee has joined GREAT BEAR URANIUM in Vancouver as its new president and CEO. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, and holds a BSc in geology from the University of British Columbia. Lawrence Dick has also joined the company as a board member.

Vancouver-based GRYPHON GOLD CORP. has made John L. Key the company’s new COO. He left Teck Cominco after running the Magmont, Polaris and Red Dog mines and serving as general manager of projects.

HUDBAY MINERALS of Winnipeg has named Allen J. Palmiere its new president and CEO. His corporate credentials include executive positions at Northgate Exploration, Breakwater Resources, Zemex Corp. and Barplats Investments; he has been a director of HudBay since 2004. Norman Anderson will become the chairman; he is the former head of Cominco and a native of Flin Flon, Man., where HudBay’s primary operations are based. Peter Jones, HudBay’s former president, CEO and director has retired.

INTERNATIONAL PBX VENTURES has named George Sookochoff CEO. A graduate of the University of British Columbia, he has consulted extensively with junior exploration companies in advanced methods of data acquisition, processing and management.

Scott Hand, former chairman and CEO of Inco, has been named a director and co-chairman of Toronto’s JUNO SPECIAL SITUATIONS CORP. The corporation was formed early in 2007 to invest in early stage exploration financing and acquire mineral royalties.

Toronto’s MEDORO RESOURCES announced the appointment of Robert Doyle as CEO. Giuseppe Pozzo, currently CEO and president, will retain the role of president.

MRL GOLD PHILS. INC., a subsidiary of Edmonton-based MINDORO RESOURCES, has named Oscar S. Reyes chairman to replace J. A. Climie. Climie will continue to serve as the company’s president and CEO.

Clifford Davis is now the president and CEO as well as chairman of Vancouver-based NEW GOLD INC.

OLIVUT RESOURCES of Hinton, Alta., has added Dr. Leo R. Daniels, an expert in diamond exploration and production, to its board.

QUEBEC CARTIER MINING of Port- Cartier, QC, has restructured its management team. Gaston Morin becomes vice-president technology; Jean Fortin is vicepresident mining operations; Michel Prive is general manager at the Mount Wright iron ore mine; Serge Miller is vice-president pellet plants, ports and railways; and Alain Cauchon is vicepresident administration.

The SKF GROUP has named Joao Ricciarelli president of SKF CANADA LTD. He succeeds Jan Lindhe who has wrapped up a 40-year-long career with the company.

Thomas F. Fudge, Jr., has been named president and CEO of Vancouver’s SNS SILVER CORP. Previously, he held the title of vice-president operations at the company. Fudge has extensive experience in Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene mining district including more than three years at the Sunshine mine, located immediately to the east of SNS Silver’s principal asset, the Crescent mine.

Glen Erikson is now president of UNGAVA MINERALS of Toronto and Dr. Allan Miller will continue as vice-president. Erikson is a founder of Nearctic Nickel Mines, Ungava’s parent company.
