Biggest advance in scaling in 40 years
Breaker Technology, Inc. (BTI) has introduced the QS45 Vibratory Pick Scaler. According to BTI president Frank Cargould, “Our QS45 vibratory pick scaler … will double the production of the standard scaler with half the maintenance. Our vibratory pick can work as a standard pick or the integral hammer can be engaged in order to give extra impact energy when necessary.”
The extreme-duty purpose-built carrier features a telescopic boom with 14-m reach, 330 boom rotation, and massive twin 15-cm lift cylinders. The tilt cylinder develops 18,000 kg of peak force to the pick tip. The trunnion shock-absorbing mounted telescoping cylinder develops 16,000 kg of thrust in both directions.
