Winning the war on engine wear
In October, Imperial Oil of Calgary, Alta., will expand its family of lubricants, when it introduces Esso XD-3 Extra CJ-4 15W-40 heavy duty engine oil. The new product is intended to meet the API CJ-4 diesel engine oil specification, which encompasses the new requirements for Proposed Category 10 (PC-10).
Esso says this oil will exceed category requirements for soot control, wear protection, oil consumption and deposit control. The new formulation will be backwards-compatible and will meet the requirements of API CI-4 and CI-4 PLUS. It will deliver significant performance enhancement, helping to extend the life of both new and older engines, as well as new emissions after-treatment systems. The new Esso XD-3 Extra CJ-4 15W-40 is designed to meet the requirements of Caterpillar ECF-3, Cummins, CES 20081, Detroit Diesel Power Guard 93K214, Volvo VDS-4 and Mack EO-O Premium Plus engines.
Since 1880, Imperial Oil has built a reputation for being an innovator and industry leader, as one of Canada’s largest producers, refiners and marketers of petroleum products and petrochemicals.
