OntZinc takes over Hudson Bay operations & name

ONTARIO – Toronto-based OntZinc Corp. completed the $325-million acquisition of Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting from Anglo American International of South Africa in late December. Hudson Bay’s main asset is its base metal mining and metallurgical complex in Flin Flon, Manitoba.

Immediately following the deal, OntZinc consolidated its outstanding shares and changed its name to Hudbay Minerals Inc. Its shares are traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol “HMB”.
