OTTAWA Proceedings of the MEND Manitoba Workshop held in September 2008 are now available from NATURAL RESOURCES CANADA. The workshop provided a forum where people exchanged information and ideas and shared new research and developments in the field of acid drainage.
The meeting included a number of case studies and research relevant to the Manitoba region. Presentations covered closure methodologies, long-term performance and environmental management. Other papers discussed the use of water covers, sludge management, membrane separation, in-pit disposal and mine water rebound issues.
The proceedings are available from MEND Secretariat, Natural Resources Canada, 555 Booth Street, Ottawa, ON K1A 0G1 or email mend_needham@nrcan.gc.ca. There is a charge of $50 for the CD-ROM, payable by cheque to the Receiver General, Visa or MasterCard (with expiry and cardholder's name).
