SASKATCHEWAN - GOLDEN BAND RESOURCES of Saskatoon has submitted a proposal to the Saskatchewan environment ministry for the operation of four mines in the La Ronge gold belt, with ores to be treated at the Jolu mill. The company is sole owner of the mill and deposits.
The company proposes to develop three open pits (Komis, EP and Tower East) and one underground mine (Bingo) to supply the Jolu mill, which would be expanded to at least 700 t/d from the current capacity of 400 t/d. The mill will continue to rely on gravity recovery and C-I-P technology. It would operate for 10 years and treat up to 2.2 million tonnes of ore.
Golden Band signed a memorandum of understanding with the La Ronge Indian Band earlier this month. The document covers inclusion of First Nations people and their businesses in the study, development and operation of the new mines.
Technical reports for the project are posted at www.GoldenBandResources.com.
