ONTARIO PHOSCAN CHEMICAL CORP of Toronto has released an NI 43-101 report for the Martison phosphate property 70 km northeast of Hearst. The deposit contain measured and indicated resources of 52.3 million t averaging 23.55% P2O5 and 0.35% Nb2O5. There is also an inferred resource of 55.7 million t averaging 21.87% P2O5 and 0.34% Nb2O5.
The Martison deposit is equally owned by PhosCan and BALTIC RESOURCES of Timmins, Ont. The deposit may become part of a vertically integrated, 400,000-t/y phosphoric acid plant to be located near Hearst. A preliminary feasibility study is underway for an open pit development. A bulk phosphate concentrate is also being tested.
