SASKATCHEWAN - SHORE GOLD of Saskatoon has recovered a 16.59-ct diamond from its Star diamond project near Fort a la Corne. The stone was recovered during Phase 3 of the underground bulk sampling. The sample returned a total of 464.27 ct, including stones weighing 8.64, 7.86 and 5.94 ct along with 75 other stones over 1.0 ct. Shore says 55% of the diamonds are white and another 23% are off-white.
These large stones were mined from the Cantuar kimberlite, south and southwest of the shaft. Shore estimates that over 40% of the stones from Cantuar are larger than 1 ct.
These results are part of the $60-million program to create a NI 43-101-compliant resource estimate for the project. Additional details are available at www.ShoreGold.com.
