ONTARIO - Vancouver-based LAKE SHORE GOLD has recalculated the resources at its Timmins West property and reports there is as much as 1.5 million oz of gold in place. Using a 3-g/t cut-off, indicated resources in three zones total 3.3 million t at 8.62 g/t Au. The inferred resource is 968,000 t at 5.54 g/t Au. A higher grade core within the indicated resource, using a greater than 6-g/t Au cut-off grade, is estimated at 2.3 million tonnes at 15.76 g/t Au (uncut) or 10.52 g/t Au (cut).
The increase over the 2004 resource estimate is due largely to the continuity and consistency of grade of the Ultramafic and Footwall zones between the 800- and 1,200-m levels. The Vein zones 1, 2 and 3 will be the focus of further resource expansion below the 400-metre level, in 2007, along with continued drilling down-plunge on the Main Zone.
