ALBERTA Anyone with an urge to see the Rocky Mountain this fall and with a need to further his or her knowledge of mine planning, equipment selection or computer applications should mark Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 on the calendar. These are the dates set for the symposia on Mine Planning and Equipment Selection (MPES) and on Computer Applications in the Minerals Industries (CAMI). A joint program of events is being developed to promote international knowledge exchange and networking for delegates.
The meetings provide a unique opportunity for discussion of the various technologies applicable in the mining industry and offers a broad perspective on the best efforts of industry, university, consultants and governments. A wide range of high quality papers from North and South America, Europe, Australia, Africa and several Asian countries will be presented. Most of the papers to be presented are included in the volume of proceedings.
