OTTAWA - The CANADIAN MINING HALL OF FAME (CMHF) has issued its yearly call for nominations that will lead to the induction of a new group of individuals. The next group of inductees will be formally honoured at a dinner to be held on Jan. 19, 2006. They will add their names to the over one hundred remarkable achievers who have been selected since the inception of the CMHF in 1989.
Nominations of persons who have made an outstanding contribution to the Canadian mining industry can be made by individuals, firms and organizations. However, nominations must be channeled through organizations that are sponsors and/or associates of the CMHF. Sponsors include the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada; the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum; the Northern Miner; and the Mining Association of Canada. Associates include some provincial and territorial mining associations and a few other mining-related organizations.
Nominations submitted must include the specific information described in the CMHF's Guidelines for Nominations. These guidelines and the Criteria for Selection are available from sponsors and associates. Nominations must be forwarded to sponsors or associates by July 29, 2005, to give them sufficient time to consider a nomination for their final slate.
