QUEBEC - AURIZON MINES of Vancouver has confirmed the continuity of grade and thickness of Zone 113 at its Casa Berardi project near Val d'Or. The deepest hole to date returned 15.7 g/t Au over a true width of 10.7 metres, 830 metres below the surface. The best assays came from another hole, which returned 29.6 g/t over 4.8 metres.
Definition drilling completed to a depth of 700 metres will be incorporated in Phase One of the Casa Berardi mine plan, which will be detailed in the feasibility study expected late in the fourth quarter. Definition drilling below 700 metres will be included in a post-feasibility Phase Two mine plan to be completed during the first half of 2005. The purpose of the two-phase approach to the mine plan is to get the mine into production sooner, at a lower pre-production cost, the company said in a news release.
Details of the Casa Berardi project including photos, hole layouts and results are posted at www.aurizon.com.
