TIMMINS, Ontario LIBERTY MINERAL EXPLORATION has acquired the Redstone nickel property in Eldorado Township. The property was developed to the 750-ft level and is known to host additional reserves, which Liberty will re-evaluate. The deposit was mined briefly at the end of the 1980s and again in the mid-1990s. The Redstone property is located in what Liberty calls its Shaw Dome project.

The company has raised $150,000 for exploration on the McWatters nickel-platinum-palladium property between Timmins and Matheson. The McWatters claims are part of the Shaw Dome project. A two-phase program is planned. Grid-cutting, geophysics and 5,000 ft of drilling will be done first. The second phase is dependent on results and financing.
