DIAMOND PRODUCTION NEWS First Diamonds from Diavik Sold in North

YELLOWKNIFE, Northwest Territories According to news from DIAVIK DIAMOND MINES, in July 2003 an allocation of rough diamonds, about 10% of the total available for sale, will be made to each of the four manufacturing facilities in Yellowknife that have received approval from the Government of the Northwest Territories under its Framework Policy on Support for Diamond Manufacturing.

RIO TINTO DIAMONDS, Diavik's sister company and sales agent, will allocate rough diamonds from the Diavik mine to ARSLANIAN CUTTING WORKS, SIRIUS DIAMONDS SCHREIBER, CANADA DENE DIAMONDS, and LAURELTON DIAMONDS.
