CHIBOUGAMAU, Quebec Drilling has confirmed the extension at depth of the West zone at the Joe Mann gold-copper mine. CAMPBELL RESOURCES has been testing the continuity of the zone between the 2750 and 3450 levels. The nine holes drilled since the end of September 2003 have returned economic values grading 0.212 to 0.494 opt Au over 5.0 to 6.3 ft, reports Campbell.
Campbell is continuing development work in ore on the 2925 level, and it expects production to begin in the second quarter of 2004. Development of another level to provide access between the 2925 and 3450 levels is planned for next year.
Earlier this year the following resource estimates from Joe Mann were made public: measured, 57,000 tons at 0.467 opt Au; indicated, 130,800 tons at 0.379 opt Au; and inferred, 253,700 tons at 0.373 opt Au.
