The drilling targeted new areas of mineralization within two gold-bearing corridors at the property: the northern and southern corridors, which are splays off of the easternmost section of the regional Cadillac Larder Lake Fault (CLLF). Drill highlights include 7 metres of 3.1 g/t gold from the North Contact zone, 1.8 metres of 9.7 g/t gold and 2 metres of 8.9 g/t gold from the Simon West zone as well as 0.5 metres of 29.7 g/t gold from the Nordeau East zone. “The drill intercepts at the North Contact and Simon West (zones) expanded the historic intercepts with superior grade intervals and remained open laterally and at depth,” Jose Vizquerra, the company’s president and CEO, said in a release. “These results demonstrate a significant potential to build economic zones in terms of size, grade and at shallow depth.” With 12,260 metres of a 15,000-metre drill program for the property completed thus far this year, Vizquerra added that drilling at the site will re-start once the government-mandated suspension due to COVID-19 is lifted. The North Contact zone is within the northern corridor, whereas the Simon West, Nordeau West and Nordeau East zones lie within the southern corridor at East Cadillac. Simon West is located west of the past-producing Chimo mine, which produced 379,000 oz. of gold at a head grade of 4 g/t; intercepts from this zone are from within a depth of 300 metres. Nordeau West is just east of Chimo, Nordeau East is 1.7 km to the east of Nordeau West and features a wacke host rock with iron formation-related mineralization, unlike Simon West and Nordeau West which are associated with mafic volcanics. Existing measured and indicated mineral resources at East Cadillac stand at 200,000 tonnes grading 4.24 g/t gold for a total of 30,000 oz. with a further 1.3 million inferred tonnes averaging 4.15 g/t gold for 170,000 oz. East Cadillac covers approximately 20 km of the easternmost part of the CLLF corridor; across its holdings, O3 controls a total of 50 km of strike of the CLLF. Earlier this month, O3 also reported drill results from the Alpha property in Val d’Or. Highlights include 1.5 metres of 13.4 g/t gold and 2 metres of 6.6 g/t gold from a drill hole in the Pontiac East zone, 1.5 km to the west of the Bulldog zone, and suggest mineralization over 2 km of strike. After consolidating gold properties in Ontario and Quebec in the second half of last year, O3 holds 4,600 sq. km of ground in the two provinces with plans to drill a total of 50,000 metres this year, including 25,000 metres at Alpha, 15,000 metres at East Cadillac and 10,000 metres at the Malartic property.
