TORONTO –
Barrick Gold sold 1.2 million oz. of gold and 114 million lb. of copper during Q3 2018. The preliminary figures also put third quarter production at 1.15 million oz. of gold and 106 million lb. of copper.
The sales and production numbers were 16% and 8% higher than in Q2 2018. Barrick credits improved throughput and grade at Barrick Nevada (the Cortez and Goldstrike mines).
The company is maintaining its 2018 gold production guidance of 4.5 million to 5.0 million oz. at an all-in sustaining cost of from US$765 to US$815 per ounce. The AISC is 7% to 9% lower, compared to the second quarter.
